How Sweet it Is

Today I am showcasing the Sweet Treats cartridge over at Cooking With Cricut.  I have been busy making decorations for my niece's Sweet 16 birthday.  What better way than to use the Sweet Treats cart.

I must say the Sweet Treats has so many functions to use.  I love their layers and the party favors.  I also like how they have phrases and numbers too.  (LOVE when I get more than just shapes or characters!!)  Not only is it just suitable for any birthday, you can create fun shaped cards, an assortment of different kinds of party favors, cupcake holders, flourishes, phrases, and numbers.  I tried to use a variety of them in my showcase so you can see some examples.  The cuts are fun, but you can always dress them to be more elegant depending on your specific party.  Can you believe I only used paper from DCWV The Garden Party!!  I was amazed!

This is the centerpiece with the different projects next to it.   Everything was cut using Sweet Treats except the word "sweet" (ironic huh?!)

Close up of the flowers.  The cart has a lot to choose from.  They all have four layers, I used only three.  I didn't use the "highlight" one.  I layered them and inked the edges of the cream colored ones.  I popped up the third layer to make the words stand out and give the flower dimension.

The Happy birthday was the phrase I used with the cartridge.  the phrases have layers too.  I used the layered feature for it and blinged it with a skittle.
This is a soup can I altered.  I emptied the contents, washed it, and stuffed it with goodies just for the birthday girl. I then added to bottom back to it.

This is the cupcake holder!  Isn't it cute!!  It has a special feature, too, for decorating it up some.  I decided to use my Martha Stewart lace punch and do a decorative border.  I inked the edges with Ranger Distress Ink: Tea Dye.  SO easy to make!

With the flower I originally chose as my "theme",  the cupcake holder above, and this party favor go along with the particular flower. (p.53 in the book)  I did not use the accessory to this as well.  I thought the paper was pretty enough!  I just added ribbon to the pre-cut holes! :)

Here is an Album I made using Mostly Sweat Treats. ("Sweet" was from the cartridge Create A Critter)

Here is a card I made with the cupcake on p. 28.

Girly Sweet 16 album

Hello my bloggy friends and welcome to Michelle's Crafty Creations.

Today I wanted to show you an album I made for my niece's upcoming 16th birthday.  She told me she liked certain colors and I tried to implement them all. (You will see a post later this week with her decorations)  For this, I wanted to create something more personal so she could capture her special day.  She will be celebrating a little later than her birthday so her dad who is deployed will be there.  A special day it will be in deed.

I used the Sweet Treats and Create a Critter Cricut cartridge for this album.  All of this was created on my Gypsy.  (This album was made from empty Freschetta Pizza boxes double layered)

Close up of the front.  The flower was curled and had skittles added to it.  "Sweet" was inked with Ranger Distress: Tea Dye.

(backside of front cover)

Photo mat or journaling.  Whichever she chooses along with a hidden tag.  Stampin Up mini library clip with some twine from The Twinery to grasp the tag.  Brown buttons to give it a finishing touch.

Card feature from Sweet treats to add a photo matt and possible journaling.  Twine from The Twinery and button to add some fun to the number one.
Back side of first page.

Last Page.
Journal tags with hidden photo matts.

I used My Big Bite Crop-A-Dile to punch holes and added binder rings to complete it.  Added some ribbon from my stash for decorations.  All paper was used from DCWV The Garden Party stack.

I think she will LOVE this.  I know I do!

I am entering this into Jinger Adams DT call over at The Scrapbooking Queen.
