4th of July Goodies

Hey all my crafty peeps!!

I hope you had a WONDERFUL 4th of July!  Even though it was hot, we still had a good time.  Cookout with friends, homemade ice cream, and fireworks....does it get any better?!

Here is another post of my 4th of July goodies.  I CLEARED out the Dollar Store's stock on Pop Rocks!  It was SO easy to make.  I used these toppers that I found from Tip Junkie.  They were SO fitting!  I also made these for my students in my Sunday School class.  Come on now, what 1st-3rd grader DOESN"T like the popping sound?  Shoot, what grown up doesn't?! LOL

I added some patriotic ribbon and curled it up to make it look more festive!

Here they are individually wrapped

All put together in the basket.  The kids LOVED these at the cookout!

Stay tuned for tomorrow's post with the decorations!

Happy 4th of July!!

Hello all and welcome to Michelle's Crafty Creations!

This is my first post of 4th of July projects.  I have some more!!

Over at Cooking With Cricut our Wednesday Challenge is celebrating our country's "birthday"!  So who doesn't like to decorate for "birthdays"??  I do!!!  The challenge was to create a project with red white and blue.  I happen to like the more Americana look with my personal decoration, so my take on it went with that!  I LOOOOOVED how it came out!!!

My banner on the mantle!

These rockets were actually made for invitation for our 4th of July party.  I'll post that tomorrow.
Can I just say paper rosettes are SO. MUCH. EASIER. than cardstock! ;)

This particular lettering was cut in shadow and letter.  I used a burnt red paper to highlight the letters on the banner!  I like the rafia instead of the traditional ribbon.

I REALLY liked how this came out.

To make this I used:

Cart ~ A Child's Year for the letters and background; Gypsy Wandering for the banner; Sweet Treats for the firecracker
Paper ~ DCWV the Guy Stack (LOVE LOVE); Blue rosette Stars and Stripes from JoAnns
Misc ~ Stickles, Ranger distress ink Tea Dye, Rafia, glue dots, and glue gun

Now it's your turn!!

Home Sweet Home

Hey all my crafty friends!  Hope you are all getting ready for your 4th of July celebration!!

I have some Decorations for the 4th...more of that later this week.

Today I wanted to show a card I made for a dear young lady who is moving into her new home.  I was honored to do the devotion for her and the focus was Making A House Your Home.  Home is where the heart is right?  That's what I think too, therefore this card was JUST perfect!!

Little window flowers! I cut the base of the two houses welded together,  Then I cut a decorative cover piece to place over the base.  I stamped the flowers on the base, colored them, placed acetate in the window and adhered the cover.  Besides some off centering (one reason I dislike rubber mounted stamps) I think it came out great!

I would have showed the inside, but I already wrote in it!! LOL

To make this I used:

Gypsy to weld the house together.
Cart ~ Create A Critter (I really need to explore one of my FAVE carts out more!)
Paper ~ DCW,and some from my stash...probably DCWV ;)
Stamp ~ SU for sentiment and flowers
Misc ~ Brad for the handle, Ranger Distress Ink Tea Dye, SU chocolate ink, Gelly roll metallic pens, and foam dots!

I will be linking this up to:

Cooking With Cricut Birthday Bloghop!

Hello all and welcome to Michelle's Crafty Creations!

Welcome to Cooking with Cricut's and PapercraftingWorld.com's June blog hop.  Our designers have been working hard to bring you two days of some really great projects.  You should have arrived from the super sweet and talented Madison at Funky Cards.  If you just happened upon my blog, please head back to the beginning with Melin at Cooking With Cricut.  You DEFINITELY don't want to miss out on any blogs along the way!! :)

Not only is this a birthday themed hop, but it is also in honor of our DT coordinator, Jen Hudson, who just happens to have her birthday during our hop! ;)  Because Jen is a gator fan through and through, we decided to have our projects reflect anything Florida.  Gators, Beach, anything that reminds you of the "Sunshine State"!  <---How fun right?!
Jen is the last one on our blog line up so be sure to stop at her blog and leave some extra love!!

Okay, when I think of Florida I think of SUNSHINE and BEACHES!!  Oh yeah!  Who doesn't love sunshine especially at the beach?!  My card truly reflects what I think of when I envision myself on the beach. (wow! how many times can one person say beach!! LOL)

A beach shape card!! I LOVE the flip-flops!
(sorry all my local peeps...slippers!!)

I JUST love my sunshine and the face.  My sun will always be smiling!!

To make this card:

I used my Gypsy to size all the pieces and weld the sun and waves to the card.

Cricut cartridges: Everyday Paper Dolls for the waves, beach chair and umbrella; Create A Critter for the sun; Accent Essentials for the base.
Paper: DCWV (The sand was paper that was torn and inked)
Misc: Jollee Sticker for the beach ball and flip-flops (slippers); PKS Everyday Character Faces; White gelly roll pen for eyes and face detail; Inkadinkadoo Chalk for the cheeks; Ranger Distress Ink tea dye for the edges.

Now what is a hop without some blog candy?

I covered the edge of the lid with hemp twine

Covered the lid with some matching paper
and loaded it with Starburst...cause he's a STAR dad!

Here's the matching card!!

Both gifts together
(LOVE this paper stack)

To make this I used:

Cartridge ~ Plantin Schoolbook for Star and Accent Essentials for label
Paper ~ DCWV Guy Stack
Stamp ~ PKS Everyday face assortment
Misc ~ sentiment from Guy Stack; Ranger Distress Tea Dye along the edges; Hemp Twine from SU; Stickers for dad from my stash; Gelly roll pen for eye feature.

All images were sized on my Gypsy.
